Lanesboro school’s Truth in Taxation meeting shows reductions in expenditures
The December 21 Lanesboro School Board meeting was opened with the annual Truth in Taxation meeting. The total revenues for the year of 2017 came to $4,360,124.00 and expenditures equaled $5,029,047.00. Harmony raises salt and sand rates
The City of Harmony currently charges $30 to salt and sand a small lot in town and $50 for a large one. The cost does not include plowing the snow. Norwegian family arrives for lutefisk dinner in Preston
Each year, Christ Lutheran Church hosts a Norwegian lutefisk and meatball dinner that draws out hundreds of people. This year, over 900 people bought tickets for the dinner. Lanesboro Council reconsiders decision not to pave Zenith Street
The Lanesboro City Council revisited the matter of the Zenith Street paving proposal at their December 4 meeting. Council member Jason Resseman was Mayor pro tem in Mayor Autumn Johnson’s absence. Fillmore Central’s book fair breaks records
Thanks to a record breaking Scholastic book fair, 200 new books were able to be purchased for the elementary school library.
