Fountain artist decorates Harmony windows for fall

Fillmore Central Board reviews audit report

At the October 22 Fillmore Central School Board meeting, Kali Olstad from Smith & Shafer presented the audit report for 2018-19. Olstad reported an unmodified, clean opinion for the audit. Hands-free law solutions at Main Street Wireless

“It was assumed that it was coming,” Lee Novotny, owner of Main Street Wireless in Chatfield, said of the hands-free driving law that went into effect in Minnesota on August 1, 2019. Filthy 50 bike race celebrates first year in Lanesboro

“Race it and set a record. Ride it and take in the beauty. Either way, get filthy,” Trenton Raygor quoted.  He was referring to the Filthy 50 bike race that took place in Lanesboro on October 12. Lanesboro school continues to prepare for upcoming facilities project

At the October 14 Lanesboro School Board meeting, the Finance, Facilities, and Long-Range Planning Committee reported that the substantial completion date for the facilities project was moved from the beginning of September 2020 to the last day of that month instead. Public hearing held to discuss 2020 Harmony street project

Lanesboro business owners ask city to review alley deterioration

Preston addresses housing issues and declining population

Fillmore County Journal -Preston ordinance amendment allows indoor storage

For the last 20 years, the population of Preston has been declining. In 2000, it stood at 1,429 residents, but it has been declining at the rate of approximately 100 people a decade. On September 20, a housing summit was held in Preston to discuss housing issues and future plans for the City of Preston.
