Arlene Marie Fingerson

February 22, 2021 by Fillmore County Journal

Arlene Fingerson, Fillmore County Journal

Arlene Marie Fingerson, 87, of Rochester, formerly of rural Fountain, passed away Thursday, February 18, 2021, at The Waters on Maywood, in Rochester, where she had been living for the past year and a half.

Arlene Marie Mead was born August 2, 1933, to Warren and Violet (Smith) Mead, in Rochester, Minn.  She graduated from Chatfield High School in 1951. During high school she worked at the DQ in Chatfield, and she worked at Federated Mutual in Owatonna, and later went to work at Interstate Power Company in Chatfield. On September 18, 1954 she married Curtis Fingerson, at Root Prairie Lutheran Church, in rural Fountain, Minn.

Arlene was very active at Root Prairie Lutheran Church, from Ladies Aid to working the meatball suppers.  She was a mother who made the household run like magic, famous for her apple pie, caramels and roast beef.  She loved shopping trips, and traveling, but most of all she loved her family more than anything.  She was quick to brag up and show pictures of her grandchildren.

Arlene is survived by her six children: Doug (Anne) Fingerson of Rochester, LuAnn (Jacob) Storm of Dover, Michelle (Jim) Jewell of Eagan, Scott (Terri) Fingerson of Fountain, Brian (Deb) Fingerson of Madison Lake, and Patrice (Mike) Kirtz of Zumbrota; 10 grandchildren: Brent (Kristie) Fingerson, Kelly (Greg) Knoepke, Nicholas (Nicki) Storm, Benjamin (Natalie) Storm, Danielle Storm, Bridget Jewell, Kayla Fingerson, Chase Fingerson, Ashlee Kirtz, Kyle Kirtz; 15 great-grandchildren, sister Margie (Don) Simpson of Rochester, and nieces and nephews.

A private funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 24, 2021, at Root Prairie Lutheran Church, rural Fountain.  Burial will take place in the church cemetery.

Online condolences are welcome at rileyfuneralhomes.com.

Memorials can be sent to Riley Funeral Home, 800 S Main St, Chatfield, Minn. 55923, Attn: Fingerson family.
