Arlene Grimes obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Arlene Louise Grimes, age 87 of Rushford, passed away on May 5, 2024. 

Arlene was born on August 29, 1936, in Rushford, to Nels and Inger (Quamen) Larson. She was a graduate of Peterson High School in 1954. On June 19, 1954. Arlene and Robert Grimes were married at the Grace Lutheran Church in Peterson. 

Arlene traveled to many countries and states with her husband who was in the United States Army for 22 years. She worked at TRW in Rushford for 34 years. 

Arlene was a member of Grace Lutheran Church and served as a Sunday school teacher. She was also a member of Peterson Legion Auxiliary. She enjoyed sewing, reading and her travels throughout her life.

She is lovingly survived her two sons, Paul Grimes and David (Arden) Grimes; and her sister, Alice Sievers. 

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband on November 3, 2015; one brother, Norman; and sisters Marian and Gladys. 

A celebration of Arlene’s life will be held on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at 11 a.m. at the Hoff Funeral Home in Rushford. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home.  Burial will take place in The Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston, Minn., next to her husband. 

Hoff Funeral and Cremation Service of Rushford is assisting the family with arrangements.
