Announcement from Sheriff Mark Inglett

May 2, 2022 by Fillmore County Journal

As I approach 33 years in law enforcement, I have decided not to seek another term as your sheriff.  It was not an easy decision for me.

It’s been an honor and privilege to lead the Houston County Sheriff’s Office forward for nearly eight years.  The staff at the Sheriff’s Office is filled with knowledgeable and dedicated people. I am proud of them and the accomplishments we have achieved together.  It’s been an honor to reestablish the Sheriff’s Posse that today is a strong organization filled with dedicated individuals.  The collaborative efforts we have developed with our neighboring agencies is a source of pride for me, which benefits us all.

I want you all to know how grateful I am to have had this opportunity to serve you, the citizens of Houston County,  as your ssheriff.  The positive comments and support so many of you have shown over the years is truly humbling and appreciated.  I would also like to thank my wife Lisa, our children and grandchildren for all their support.  Being your sheriff has never been just a job for me, it has been a lifestyle that at times, has impacted them.

I believe I will leave the Sheriff’s Office in a great place, and I look forward to serving you, the citizens, for the remainder of my term.

Sincerely,

Mark Inglett

Houston County Sheriff
