Glenn (Butch) Meyer, age 83 of Caledonia, Minnesota, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 2, 2026, at Mayo Health Systems, La Crosse, Wisconsin.
Butch is survived by his son Tim (Kelly) Meyer, daughters Tammie (Greg) Skauge and Renee (Greg) Zeller, grandchildren Dylan Meyer, Kole (Carrie) Skauge, Taylor (Hannah) Skauge, Tristan Meyer, Jen (Jeff) Sturgis and Ashley Halama; and great-grandson Clayton Skauge, with another great-grandson, Baby Boy Skauge, expected soon; brothers Alan (Sandy) Meyer and Terry (Mary) Meyer, and many nieces and nephews.
Born on August 16, 1943, to Raymond and Alice Meyer, Butch was one of 11 children. He lived his entire life in Caledonia, Minnesota, where he met and married Sandie Kuecker. They were blessed with two children, Tammie and Tim. They later divorced.
Butch’s love of driving began early in life, when he drove a semi for Paper Cal in La Crosse. He also served for many years with the Caledonia Fire Department.
Butch and his brother Alan (Mouse) founded Meyer Brothers Construction and took great pride in their work. Together, they poured countless sidewalks, driveways, patios and basements throughout Caledonia and the surrounding area. Concrete work was physically demanding, and after retiring from it, Butch drove a mini garbage truck for Richards Sanitation. He enjoyed collecting garbage with his grandsons in the towns they served and stopping at JT’s for lunch on Tuesdays.
Butch loved being outdoors with family, whether hunting, fishing, mowing or four-wheeling. His passion for operating a bulldozer and Bobcat never faded. He spent hours cutting trails, building ponds and landscaping, always working to get every detail just right. He also loved hopping into his pickup and going for a drive — the destination never mattered as much as the journey. He will be deeply missed by all.
Butch is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Alice Meyer, siblings Leroy Meyer, Leona (Bill) Latham, Dale Meyer, Gary Meyer, Betty Ladsten, Bonnie Peterson, Judy (David) Frank and Jeanie Felten; nephews Jerry Meyer, Danny Meyer and Jimmy Peterson; and nieces Diane Maxwell, Debbie Hodges and Sandy Marks.
