Mary Gayle Thorson was born August 21, 1948, in Racine, Minn. She was the second of four children born to Norwin and Pauline (Maricle) Thorson. In 1954 the family moved to Ostrander, Minn.
Mary attended the Ostrander and LeRoy schools, graduating in May 1966. She attended college in Mankato, Minn., where she met her future husband, Edward Adrian. They married in June 1973 and moved to California. Sometime later they divorced.
Mary had two children, Amanda who died March 15, 1984, and Sarah, born December 22, 1986.
Mary returned to Minnesota with her daughter Sarah, residing in suburbs of Minneapolis. She was living in Prior Lake at the time of her death.
On Friday, May 1, 2026, Mary passed into Eternity.
She was preceeded in death by her infant daughter Amanda, her parents, her grandparents, uncles and aunts, nephews and nieces, and several cousins.
She is survived by her daugther Sarah, her grandson Ethan Kearney, her siblings David (Jeanie) Thorson, her twin brother Tommy Thorson, and her younger sister Rita (Margarita) Thorson.
Mary was cremated and will be buried in the Bennington Cemetery, Bennington Township, Mower County, Minnesota.
A June 27 family gathering is planned in Ostrander.
