Charlotte Ann Kerrigan, age 96, of Houston, passed away on April 11, 2026, at the Valley View Health Care and Rehabilitation Center in Houston.
Charlotte was born on June 24, 1929, in La Crosse, Wis., the daughter of Edward and Gena (Vathing) Sanden. She attended school in Houston, Minn., and graduated in 1947. She acquired her teaching degree through Winona State University and was an elementary teacher at Lake City, Minn., and Houston spring primary for many years. She married the love of her life, Roland Jack Kerrigan on March 24, 1951. Charlotte was a very active and dedicated member of Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston.
Charlotte’s life was filled with card playing with the gals and other couples, coffee parties and other social events. She was a devoted wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was deeply loved and appreciated by her entire family in return.
Charlotte will be missed by her children Mike (Julie Ann) of Walker, Minn., and Steve Kerrigan of Falcon Heights, Minn., grandchildren Brent of Walker, Minn., Daniel (Amber) of Andover, Minn., Jill (Redmond) Fraser of Fridley, Minn., and Sarah Kerrigan of St. Anthony Village, Minn.; and great-grandchildren Autumn, Parker, Frances and Marigold. She is further survived by her siblings Ingrid Slattum of Lakeville, Minn., and Charles (Joann) Sanden of Saddlebrook, Ariz.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack on October 15, 2018, and her sisters Doris Benson and Phyllis Hartle.
Charlotte’s family extends their gratitude to all friends and relatives for the support shown throughout the past several years. They also wish to thank Valley View Nursing Home and St. Croix Hospice for their kindness, compassion and devoted care provided to Charlotte.
A celebration of life for Charlotte will be held on Saturday, May 30 at 11 a.m. with a one-hour visitation prior, at Cross of Christ Lutheran Church in Houston, Minn.
