Defending 1A boys golf champion Rushford-Peterson put up a super low team score and won both of its meets on the week. Hosting Cotter/Hope Lutheran, Josh Rye’s group put up a 151 to win the match 151 to 176. It was the lowest round of any Journal-covered team this year (and then some). Three Trojans shot sub-40, medalist Jaxson Meldahl (one-under 35), Kellen Drinkall (even-par 36), and Will LaFleur (38). Sam LaFleur (42) was the last scoring golfer. Jace Dvorak (43) and Gus Hoiland (44) also shot well. Cotter’s scoring foursome were Logan Fritts (43), Chase Petschow (44), Cooper Christopherson (44), and Eamon Cocoran (45). R-P’s girls also won 222 to 245 behind Adalyn Colbenson (45), Brynn Dvorak (50), and Camdyn Rye (53). C/HL’s Kaylee Van Etten (40) was the medalist. The meet was at the par-36 Ferndale Golf Course. R-P’s boys then beat FC 160 to 172. Meldahl and S-LaFleur (38s) co-medaled. Hoiland, Dvorak, and W-LaFleur shot 42s. Drinkall added a 43. Brody Srsen (39) led FC followed by Oliver Flaby (42), Carston Grabau (45), Graysen Ostrom (46), Chase Grabau (49), and Bennett Miller (50). The Falcons shot a season-low. R-P improved to 6-0 in the TRC/overall. FC fell to 0-4, 1-5. R-P’s girls posted their lowest score of the season to win 201 to 213. Falcon Maddie Topness (43) was the medalist. Ella Diersen (49) was the next highest Falcon. Adalynn Hoel (47), Dvorak (51), and Addison Drinkall (54) led R-P. The meet was at Harmony’s par-36 golf course. The Trojans girls improved 4-2 in the TRC/overall. FC fell to 2-2, 2-3.
