On March 13, 2026, Dontae Lament Hampton, 50, address unknown, appeared before District Court Judge Jeremy Clinefelter.  Hampton is charged with Predator Offender – Knowingly Commits Act or Fails to Fulfill Registration Requirement.  It is a felony with a maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. On or about January 26 thru March 11, Hampton allegedly lived at an address without updating his Duty to Register Form, which he is required per his status as a predator offender.   

On April 7, 2026, Dayo Akanbi Ajayi, 46 of Westland, Michigan, appeared before District Court Judge Jeremy Clinefelter. Ajayi is charged with two counts of Theft – Take/Use/Transfer Movable Property – No Consent.  One count (taking property valued at over $5,000) carries a maximum criminal penalty of 10 years in prison and/or a $20,000 fine while the second (stealing a vehicle) carries a maximum criminal penalty of five years in prison and/or a $10,000 fine. On or about April 5, a Fillmore County Sheriff’s sergeant was alerted (via a security company) to a motor vehicle theft in progress.  The defendant allegedly stole a truck (priced at $32,595) from a business in Mabel. The alleged defendant was apprehended in the stolen vehicle outside of Caledonia.
