Baseball: Warriors Start With Four-Win Week 

Caledonia baseball began its 2026 season with four wins in six days. The Warriors swept a cold Monday doubleheader with Rushford-Peterson at St. Mary’s University. They took game one 9-1 behind senior Landon O’Heron’s dual effort (7 IP, 2 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 1 BB, 11 K, Win, 1-2, 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R). Will Allen (2-4, two 2B, 2 RBI, 2 R), Jack Schmitz (2-5, two 2B, R), and Tyson Ginther (2-4, 2B, R) also did work. Brode Vickerman (1-3, RBI) and Elias Johnson (1-3, R) authored the Trojans’ one run. Cayden Lea (3 IP, 3 H, 5 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 4 K) took the loss. Game two was an 8-3 Warrior win. W-Allen (6 1/3 IP, 4 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 6 BB, 6 K; 1-4, 2B, RBI, R) battled to get the pitching win. Max Schmitz (2-3, 2B, 2 R), Jacob Klug (2-3, RBI, 2 R), Braiden DeFlorian (1-3, 3 RBI), Ginther (1-3, RBI, R), Caden Hauser (1-2, 2B), and J-Schmitz (1-4, 3B, R) contributed to the 10-hit offense cause. Grant DeGeorge (2-3, RBI, R), Levi Kammerer (1-3, RBI), and E-Johnson (5 IP, 9 H, 8 R, 6 ER, 3 BB, 4 K, Loss) led R-P. Caledonia then took down PEM 2-1. M-Schmitz’s RBI-single in the top of the fifth proved to be the game winner. PEM left two on in the sixth and the bases loaded in the seventh. O’Heron (6 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 1 ER, 4 BB, 6 K) collected his second win. Ginther (1-4, 2B) scored both Warrior runs and got the save (1 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 2 BB, 1 K). Shawn Bauer’s group ended the week rallying from a 4-0 first inning deficit to top Randolph 7-5. Caledonia had a four-run second and a three-run third to lead 7-4. Cooper Allen (2-3, 2B) drove in three runs. J-Schmitz (5 IP, 1 H, 4 R, 1 ER, 5 BB, 7 K, 1-2, R) collected the win, M-Schmitz (2 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 0 BB, 2 K; 0-1, 2 R) the save. The duo allowed just two total hits. O’Heron (1-3, R) and Ginther (1-4, RBI) helped on “O.” The Warriors are 3-0 in the TRC, 4-0 overall. 

Three Rivers Conference Baseball (4/7 – 4/10) 

Cotter/Hope Lutheran 8, Fillmore Central/Lanesboro 3 (FC/L: Levi Rogers 1-3, RBI, 2 2/3 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 4 K; Reid Olson 2-3, Joey Pederson 4 1/3 IP, 8 H, 6 R, 4 ER, 1 BB, 4 K, Loss. Cotter had a five-run third, out-hit FC/L 10 to 5) 

Rushford-Peterson 3, St. Charles 1 (R-P: Grant DeGeorge 7 IP, 4 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 2 BB, 1 K, Win, 2-3, R; Levi Kammerer 2-3, RBI, R; Cayden Lea 2-4; Owen Lange 1-3, R. The Trojans scored all their runs in the top of fourth. R-P is 1-3 in the TRC/overall.) 

Cotter/Hope Lutheran 10, Chatfield 2 (Ch: Sean Kirchner 1-3, 2 RBI, 5 IP, 5 H, 5 R, 0 ER, 3 BB, 6 K, Loss; Colter Milander 1-2, R. Cotter/HL struck out 15, walked four. Chatfield struck out nine and walked nine. The score was 5-2 after five) 

Southeast Conference Baseball (4/6 – 4/9) 

Lyle/Pacelli 7, Houston 0 (H: Archer Semling 2-3; Hector Steinfeldt 6 IP, 6 H, 4 ER, 2 BB, 8 K, Loss) 

GMLOK 2, Houston 12 [5] (H: Coltin Groth 5 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 7 K, Win, 1-2, 3 RBI; Tilden Witt 2-3, 3 RBI, R; H. Steinfeldt 1-1, 2 RBI, 3 R; Axel Vix 2-3, 2 RBI. GMLOK: Dan Lund 1-2, RBI; Carter Strobel 1-1, R) 

Spring Grove 2, Mabel-Canton 6 (M-C: Nolan Garness 5 2/3 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 ER, 2 BB, 8 K, Win, 1-4, RBI, R; Kale Tollefsrud 2-3, 2B, 2 R; Brevyn Tollefsrud 2-2, 2 RBI; Milton Hutchinson 1-4, RBI, R; Josh Whitney 1-3, RBI; Jayce Austin 2-3; Kale Eiken 1 1/3 IP, 0 H, 0 R, 0 BB, 3 K. SG: Kolton Nerstad 2-3, RBI, R, 3 1/3 IP, 6 H, 4 R, 3 ER, 1 BB, 1 K, Loss; Sam Klug 2-4, RBI.)

GMLOK 0, Lyle/Pacelli 13 [5] (GMLOK: Tate Rasmussen 1-2, 2B; C. Strobel 1-1. The Bulldogs (0-2, 0-5) had just three hits.) 

Southland 16, Spring Grove 1 [5] (SG: Ezra Konkel 1-2, 2B, RBI; Tysen Moen 1-1, R. The Rebels had an 11-run first) 

Houston 5, Schaeffer Academy 8 (H: C. Groth 2-3, 3 RBI, R; A. Vix 2-4, R; H. Steinfeldt 2-3, 2 R; Grayden Beckman 1-4, 2B, RBI, 3 IP, 2 H, 4 R, 4 ER, 4 BB, 7 K, Loss; T. Witt 3 IP, 4 H, 4 R, 2 ER, 2 BB, 6 K. The game was tied 4-4 thru four and half innings. SA scored two in the bottom of the fifth and two more in the bottom of the sixth to lead 8-4) 

Non-Conference Baseball (4/7 – 4/11) 

Chatfield 0, Randolph 10 [5] (Rocket pitching including starter Tristan Zingler allowed one hit with 12 strikeouts) 

Mabel-Canton 3, Fillmore Central/Lanesboro 1 (M-C: K. Eiken 7 IP, 1 H, 1 R, 0 ER, 4 BB, 5 K, Win; Isaac Underbakke 1-3, R; K. Tollefsrud 1-3, R; N. Garness 1-3, R; B. Tollefsrud 1-3, 2B. FCL: Thomas Pikula 6 1/3 IP, 7 H, 3 R, 1 ER, 3 BB, 6 K, Loss; Jackson Hildebrandt 1-2, 2B. M-C’s first two batters walked and came around to score on an error. Underbakke stole home in the seventh for an insurance run. FC/L left runners on second and third in its seventh. FC/L is 0-1 TRC, 0-2 overall)

A second game with J-W-P was also cancelled. The Lions are 0-2 SEC, 0-4 overall); Houston 1, J-W-P 12 (H: Ryan Riederer 1-3, RBI; Coltin Van Gundy 1-3, 2B; H. Steinfeldt 5 IP, 4 H, 7 R, 2 ER, 4 BB, 3 K, Loss. A second game with USC was cancelled per rain. The Hurricanes are 1-2 SEC, 1-4 overall.)
