Collin Revered obituary, Fillmore County Journal

September 15, 1943 – March 23, 2026

Collin Hugh Roverud, age 82, of Minneapolis passed away on Monday, March 23, 2026, at Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis, Minn. Collin was born September 15, 1943, to Paul and Clara (Rostad) Roverud in Spring Grove, Minn., one of four brothers (along with Gary, Steve and Brian). He graduated from Spring Grove High School in 1961 where he excelled in sports, lettering 14 times in four different sports. He went on to graduate from the University of Minnesota in 1965 with a degree in Sociology/Psychology.

On August 2, 1964, he married his high school sweetheart, Betty Oefstedahl at Trinity Lutheran Church in Spring Grove. They lived in Richfield, Minn., and eventually moved to Albert Lea, Minn., where they lived until Betty’s passing in 1992. While in Albert Lea, Collin worked at Four Seasons Travel and worked many years teaching future travel agents at what is now Riverland Community College. He was a man of purpose and continued to work throughout his life. Collin was also a fan of sports and followed many teams, especially any played by his children or grandchildren.

On August 17, 1996, Collin married the next love of his life, Barbara (Holdgrafer) Weis. They lived in Albert Lea until they moved to the Twin Cities and have thoroughly enjoyed their life together there. Collin loved all sports, biking, gardening, his faith, and his family. He was a caregiver to all and was respected and loved by everyone who met him.

Collin is survived by his wife Barbara, son Peter (Sandra) Roverud, two daughters, Sara (Rawlin) Peulen and Nicole (Bill) Weiser; stepsons Michael (Abigail) Mouw, Matthew (Joanna) Mouw, and Montgomery (Suzann) Mouw; stepdaughter Nikki (Nicholas) Roland, 14 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Collin is preceded in death by his wife Betty Roverud, infant son John David, his parents Paul and Clara Roverud, and brother Steven Roverud.

Celebration of Collin’s life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2026, at Hosanna Church, 9600 163rd St. W., Lakeville, MN (Door 5) with a gathering of family and friends starting at 9:30 a.m.

Private internment for immediate family only will take place at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, please send memorials to a charity close to your heart in Collin’s name.
