Heidi Berge

May 18, 2022 by Fillmore County Journal

Heidi Berge obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Heidi K. Berge, 55, of Caledonia, Minn., died on May 14, 2022, at Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minn., after complications following a surgical procedure.

Heidi Berge was born September 25, 1966, to Hilaine (Berge) Gilbeck and was raised primarily by her grandparents Hilma and Clarence Berge in Rushford, Minn.  She was baptized and confirmed at Highland Prairie Lutheran Church and graduated from Rushford High School in 1984, where she enjoyed music and sports.  After high school, Heidi worked and lived around Rushford and Caledonia.  She loved children, her cat Gracie, spending time with her beloved great-uncle and great-aunt Walter and Gladys Howe, and practicing her faith.

Heidi is survived by her brother Jon (Loretta) Gilbeck, niece Elsa Gilbeck, nephew Owen Gilbeck, and numerous cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother Hilaine (Berge) Gilbeck, from Coon Valley, Wis.; and grandma and grandpa Hilma and Clarence Berge.

A special thanks to the staffs at Mayo Clinic in La Crosse and Mayo Clinic Saint Marys Campus in Rochester, for their personal touch and professionalism.  Their support over the weeks of care, brought great serenity to Heidi and family.

Upon wishes of the family, services will be private.  Our family humbly requests that in lieu of flowers or gifts, we ask you to donate to Immanuel Lutheran Church in Caledonia, Minn., in Heidi’s honor.
