June Lorna Meyer

February 8, 2021 by Fillmore County Journal

June Meyer obituary, Fillmore County Journal

June Lorna Meyer passed to her eternal home on February 5, 2021, at the Stewartville Care Center, with her family by her side.

June was born on June 18, 1929, in Fillmore County. She was the daughter of Dewey Day and Bernice Johnson Day. June was baptized and confirmed at St. Johns in Wykoff, Minn. On September 3, 1948, she was united in marriage to Edward Meyer at St. Johns in Wykoff. The couple made their home in Stewartville until moving to a farm south of Wykoff in 1962.

June was a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Wykoff until she moved back to Stewartville in 2013, where she became a member of St. Johns Lutheran Church in Stewartville.

June delivered Meals on Wheels and belonged to Helping Hands. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, fishing, watching the Minnesota Vikings, playing cards, and getting together with her family, whom she loved dearly. June loved her family with all her heart. She was the greatest mom, grandma and great-grandma anyone could ever ask for.

June is survived by her children: Lawrence (Barb), Vinson (Lori), LeeAnne (Roger) Omavuohrerhe, Steven, Lori, and Brian (Denise). She is also survived by 12 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Dewey and Bernice, her step-father Carl, her husband Edward, two sons, Leslie and David; and her sister Norma Horsman.

June’s family can not say enough good things about the care their mother received the last few years from the staff of the Stewartville Care Center, and a special thank you to Seasons Hospice.

There will be a private family service held on Thursday. In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred to St. Johns Lutheran Church.  The service will be live streamed at www.facebook.com/StJohnsWykoff/.

Our thought and prayers are with all of you.
The Stewartville Care Center is a great place to be. My mother passed away from there 3 years ago October.
I only hope it was a relief as well as sad when she passed. It was for us.
    God bless all of you.
