To the Editor,
It’s campaign season, and here in Minnesota, it’s the time of year when our right to bear arms is in jeopardy.
Greg Davids – our State Representative – has come under fire by metro liberals for supporting the right of law abiding citizens to own a firearm. To be sure, Davids has earned high marks from the NRA and other similar groups for his staunch support of the second ammendment.
I am voting for Greg Davids because he supports our rights. The constitution is not some last-minute document developed by our nation’s founders. It’s a set of guidelines that has served us well for nearly 250 years. Just think of the number of men and women who fought for the freedoms we enjoy today.
And, as far as curbing gun violence, let’s make sure criminals cannot possess a firearm. Obey the laws, and you can own a gun. Break the law, and you cannot.
Seems like a common sense solution to me.
