The 13th annual Fillmore County Turkey Day Run is scheduled for Thursday, November 25, 2021, starting at 8 a.m. Runners and walkers will meet at the trailhead parking lot in Fountain, Minn. The route follows the unspoiled beauty of the Root River State Bike Trail, starting in Fountain and ending at the Lanesboro Historical Museum. The entire route is 11.2 miles. However, many participants have elected to travel from the start of the event in Fountain to the Old Barn Resort, which trims the route down to 6.5 miles.
This is a free event. There are no water stations or shuttle services provided. All participants are asked to make a donation to the Fillmore County Food Shelf.
There will be a limit of 49 participants for this year’s event. A long-sleeved shirt and stocking cap combo are available for purchase for $35. Due to supply chain issues, shirts and hats must be ordered by Tuesday, November 2, 2021, in order to be guaranteed.
