RPH Girls Win Home Meet

Rushford-Peterson/Houston hosted a nine-team track and field meet. Led by a junior standout, the Tro-Cane girls grabbed the team title (142.5) over Cotter/Hope Lutheran (133), LFCMC (107), and Chatfield (87) with La Crosse-Logan, Lourdes, Caledonia/Spring Grove, L/P, and Randolph also participating. Houston’s Aubry Boldt continued her fantastic start to the season. For a third straight meet, she broke a program record. Leaping 37’2 ¼”, she reset her own RPH Triple Jump mark. It was one of four first places, as Boldt also won the 100 (13.05), 100-hurdles (15.56), and Long Jump (17’4 ¼”). Emily Helgemoe (400 > 1:05.17) and Jorja Meyer (Discus > 108’10”) also took first for RPH. Abby Prinsen (Discus) and the 4×800 (Madi Schwanbeck, Caitlin Bauer, Mackenzie Rasmussen, Kyra Kotsmith) took second. Meyer (Shot), Vada Larson (3,200), Lydia Pedretti (100-H) and Quinn Potter (P-Vault) took third. Chatfield got firsts from Jaelyn LaPlante (High Jump > 5’0”) and Charlotte Oeltjen (3,200 > 12:09.44). LaPlante (100) and Rebecca Copeman (100-H, Pole Vault) took second. Lexi Kivimagi (1,600) and Savannah Peterson (L-Jump) took third. LFCMC got firsts from Elizabeth Clarke (Pole Vault > 8’6”), the 4×400 (4:24.20 > Olivia Rindels, Hannah Vaalemoen, Aubrey Daniels, Lillyan Kiehne) and 4×800 (10:40.85 > Kinley Soiney, Vaalemoen, Grace Kingsley, Kyla Hellickson) teams. Kiehne (1,600), G-Kingsley (3,200), and the 4×100 (Sari Rein, Charlotte Ferrie, Aubrey Daniels, Soiney) took second. Ella Halverson (400) and Ava Larson (300-hurdles) took third. Caledonia/Spring Grove’s only first was its 4×200 team (1:50.41 > Chloe Lange, Kamrin Theis, Sienna Augedahl, Nicole Banse). Jessica Stendel took third (Discus) and fourth (Shot). La Crosse-Logan (167) was the boys’ team champ over Cotter/HL (152.5), RPH (114), LFCMC (73), Cal/SG (73), and Chatfield (60). For RPH, Chace Drazkowski (Discus > 147’2”), the 4×400 (3:36.10 > Landon Dahl, Trey Hegland, Aaron Ploetz, Hunter Rislov), and 4×800 (8:51.40 > Christo Badenhorst, Brennan Kunst, Isaac Rasmussen, Matthew Sprague) teams took first. Ploetz (1,600) and Matthew Hengel (Discus) took second. Drazkowski (Shot), Sprague (800), Rasmussen (1,600), Kunst (3,200), Caden Mattson (100), and Gregg Gile (Triple Jump) took third. Brody Niemeyer (Shot Put > 50’6”) had LFCMC’s only first. Greg Kennedy (200), Adrian Rindels (High Jump), the 4×100 (Weston Collins, A-Rindels, Davis Penhollow, Kennedy), and 4×800 teams (Cooper Pickett, Landon Sethre, Maddex Rindels, Jaxon Huntington) took second. Collins (110-H) added a third. For C/SG, Fischer Wait (200 > 22.71; 400 > 50.30) and Ethan Stendel (110-hurdles > 16.20; H-Jump > 6’0”) each had two firsts. Eli Staggemeyer (100) and the 4×200 (E-Staggemeyer, Owen Staggemeyer, Charlie Mauss, Noah Schroeder) took second. For Chatfield, the 4×400 (Lane Schmaltz, Keyan Danninger, Maddex Lanning, Keegan Patten) took second. Patten (300-H) and Ross Stoehr (H-Jump) took third. 

GMLOKS Team Sweep Klas-Kronebusch Meet in Wabasha

GMLOKS track and field teams are going to be a force to be reckoned with this year. At W-K’s Klas-Kronebusch Meet, each team came away champion by a wide margin. The girls (221.5) topped nearest foe Lake City (95.5). The boys (183) topped nearest foe Zumbrota-Mazeppa (128). K-W/Goodhue, Cochrane-Fountain City, W-K, and Alma-Pepin also competed. On the girls’ side, Chantle Reiland (100 > 12.62; 200 > 26.42; Long Jump > 16’11”) won three individual events to lead the way. She was also part of the first place 4×100 team (53.14) with Lydia Redman, Brynlee Koenigs, and Avery Stroup. Lauren Queensland had two firsts (400 > 1:05.89; High Jump > 4’10”). Stroup (Pole Vault > 7’6”), Breeley Galle (100-hurdles > 16.38), Kloe Meyer (Shot Put > 30’4 ½”), and Brynn Sathre (Discus > 103’5”) also won events. The 4×100 throwers relay (Caisa Kolling, Phoebe Bauer, Brynn Sathre, Meyer) also took first (of two). Galle (Triple Jump), Queensland (800), Brynna Nelson (400), and Kolling (Shot) took second. Kolling (Discus), Rylee Holst (400), and Naomi Warmka (800) took third. For the boys, Rowan Sween (Shot Put > 45’3 ½”; Discus > 120’4”) swept the throws while Bently Wiersma also won two events (Long Jump > 19’6 ½”; Triple Jump > 38’6”). Tate Goergen (800 > 1:58.28), Brede Nelson (Pole Vault -tie > 10’0”), the 4×200 (1:34.99 > Zach Reiland, Kaleb Yunker, Goergen, Wiersma), and 4×400 (3:33.60 > Z-Reiland, Carter Glynn, Yunker, Goergen) teams also took first. Goergen’s sub-two-minute 800 time was impressive for this early in the season. Z-Reiland (200), Connor Popenhagen (Shot), and the 4×800 (Gavin Hubka, Glynn, Kameron Horgeshimer, Ashton Gehling) took second. Obediah Watson (Shot, Discus) and Kaaleem Reiland (100, Long Jump) had two thirds. Yunker (200), Gehling (3,200***), Hubka (High Jump), and Nathaniel Drees (400) also took third. GMLOKS’ girls also won the K-W/Goodhue meet on the week while the boys took second (See “Track and Field” for more). ***Denotes event had four competitors.

Track and Field (4/8) 

Kenyon-Wanamingo/Goodhue Meet (GMLOKS girls (238) took first over K-W/Goodhue (106). The GMLOKS boys (119.66) took second to Triton (126). Cannon Falls, W-K, Randolph, and Medford also competed. GMLOKS girls’ firsts: Chantle Reiland (100 > 12.56; 200 > 26.65), Lauren Queensland (400 > 1:06.76), Breeley Galle (100-hurdles > 16.28), Kloe Meyer (Shot Put > 30’5”), Caisa Kolling (Discus > 104’11”), Amelia McCabe (Pole Vault > 9’3”), the 4×100 (53.28 > Lydia Redman, Brynlee Koenigs, Amelia McCabe, C-Reiland), 4×400 (4:36.28 > Brynna Nelson, Emma Lewison, Rylee Holst, Queensland), and 4×800 (10:45.68 > Sadie Bustad, Lewison, Naomi Warmka, Queensland) relays. Reiland (Long Jump), Nelson (400), Bustad (3,200), Queensland (High Jump – tie), Kolling (Shot), Brynn Sathre (Discus), and the 4×200 (Jillian Moore, McCabe, Holst, Aubrianna Buttke) took second. GMLOKS boys’ firsts: Tate Goergen (800 > 2:02.19), Zach Reiland (300-hurdles > 42.17), Brede Nelson (Pole Vault > 10’6), Bently Wiersma (Long Jump > 19’9”), the 4×200 (1:35.79 > Z-Reiland, Kaleb Yunker, Nathaniel Drees, Wiersma), and 4×400 (3:42.62 > Z-Reiland, Yunker, Carter Glynn, Goergen) relays. Wiersma (Triple Jump), Kameron Horgeshimer (3,200), and the 4×800 (Brady Hrykas, Braydn Nordeng, Soren Saterdalen, Shane Ruechel) took second)
