Lois Berekvam obituary, Fillmore County Journal

The funeral for Lois Berekvam, 92, of Whalan, will be on Friday, July 22, 2022, at 11 a.m. at the Whalan Lutheran Church, with Pastor Patricia Hinkie officiating.

Lois Berekvam passed away on Saturday, July 16, 2022, at the Good Shepherd Nursing Home in Rushford, Minn.

Lois Ilene Berekvam was born in Lanesboro, Minn., on September 3, 1929, to Leland and Ida (Sveen) Benson. Lois married Dorman Berekvam on September 6, 1952. Lois worked at the Winona Knitting Mills, Control Data, Lanesboro Produce, Whalan Grocery and for 30 years, worked as a US Postal worker.

Lois loved to cook, bake and do canning; she was always looking thru her cookbooks for recipes. She loved fishing and working with her flowers and mostly, her family. She always said she had the best childhood ever. Lois was a member of the Whalan Lutheran Church and Whalan Legion Auxiliary.

Survivors include Rodney (Deb) Berekvam, Rhonda (Jerry) Ebertowski, Randy Berekvam and Rory (Kim) Berekvam; grandchildren Wyatt, Ashley, Shane, Ryan, Landon, Alex and Emily; and great-grandchildren Jaden, Stella, Jack, Roeland, Levi and Devon.
She was preceded in death by her husband Dorman.

Visitation will be Friday, July 22, 2022, at 10 a.m., one hour before the service at the Whalan Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Whalan Lutheran Cemetery.
