Kale Eiken carried 38 times for 203 yards and 3 touchdowns to lead M-C over Houston 46-18 in South-East football action. Carter Hershberger added 106 yards and two TDs on the ground for the Cougars.  Dylan Halverson amassed over 300 yards of total offense (135 rushing, 194 passing) and four total TDs as Spring Grove topped Faribault B.A. 28-6. Teague Tessum ran for 131 yards to two touchdowns but Lanesboro fell to Alden-Conger/G-E 28-22. Caledonia volleyball, ranked #7 in Class AA, went 5-1 on the week. Ashlyn Reinhart had 22 kills and Lily Augedahl 38 assists in a five-set win over Winona High.  The Warriors (2-1 in the TRC, 8-2 overall) went 3-1 to take fifth at the Apple Valley “Aerie Challenge.” Addison Drinkall had 24 digs and went 30 of 30 serving with 6 aces as R-P swept LC/H 3-0. Drinkall also had 41 digs as R-P lost in five sets at Red Wing. Grace Ekern added 25 assists and 28 digs, Kenley Snyder 25 digs, in the match for the Trojans. Sophia Braun had 20 digs, Quinn Schaalma 32 assists, but GM gave up a 2-0 lead in falling to Lyle/Pacelli in five sets in a key SEC-West early season match. Chloe Drury-DeBoer had 25 digs as Kingsland topped G-E in five sets. Claire Sherburne had 34 assists as Spring Grove swept Lanesboro. Braylee Stortz and Ella Halverson combined for 33 kills with Gwen Rein providing 34 assists as #8 in Class A M-C topped Houston 3-0. SG (4-0, 5-3) and M-C (2-0, 2-0) are the two league-undefeated teams in the SEC-East. Southland (4-0, 5-0) leads the SEC-West over Lyle/Pacelli (3-1, 7-5) and GM (2-1, 5-6).
