Hershberger Shooting Arrest

According to Fillmore County Sheriff John DeGeorge, on Saturday, September 12, at 3:44 a.m., Fillmore County Sheriff’s Dispatch received a 911 call from a 56-year-old Arkansas man who stated that he had been shot by a man at a residence south of Preston. Sheriff’s deputies responded to the scene at 18157 Game Road and established a perimeter near the residence. After gathering more information from the victim, the Rochester-Olmsted County Emergency Response Unit was called to assist. At 9:59 a.m., 51-year-old Dennis Hershberger was taken into custody by the ERU team. Fillmore County Sheriff’s Investigators are continuing the investigation; the victim was transported to WinnMed hospital in Decorah with non-life-threatening injuries.
