Patricia Fogal obituary, Fillmore County Journal

Patricia (Pat) Lee Fogal, 90, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, at Gunderson Lutheran Medical Center in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Pat was born on November 4, 1935, to Harold and Signe Jensen in Chicago, Illinois. Three years later her mother and newborn sibling died due to complications in childbirth. Her father remarried Edith Jensen, and she raised Pat as her own daughter. After graduating from Norway High School in 1954, Pat met and married Richard (Dick) Fogal on September 3, 1955, in Norway, Michigan, sharing the next 65 years until his death in 2020. She was a Navy wife for the next 20 years, raising her two children, John and Joan. Pat volunteered at Good Shepard nursing home and really enjoyed talking to the residents and making new friends. She was an active member of St. Marks Lutheran Church in Rushford, Minnesota. Pat loved children and taught Sunday School at St. Mark’s and volunteered at St. Mark Little Lambs preschool for 10 years until 2012. She loved to garden; vegetables were her specialty. Pat was strong, compassionate, a wonderful caregiver and made friends wherever she went.

Pat is survived by her children John (Sue) Fogal and Joan Klinski, grandchildren Jennifer (Jon) Berger and Brent (Marissa) Fogal, great-grandchildren Anabelle, Lilah and Clara Berger, and Edison and Arden Fogal; sister Susan (Harold) Beazley, and sister-in-law Elaine Jensen.

Pat was preceded in death by her husband Dick Fogal, parents Harold and Signe Jensen, mother Edith Jensen, and brother Dennis Jensen.

Hoff Funeral Home Rushford is assisting the family.
