Randy Owen Gomer, age 60, of Grand Meadow, Minnesota, passed away Saturday August 15, 2026, at St. Mary’s Hospital in Duluth, Minnesota.
Randy was born on March 3, 1966, to Raymond and Marcia Gomer. He graduated from high school in Grand Meadow. After high school he was a carpenter for many years where he further improved his already existing woodworking skills. After that he started his long career at Spee-Dee delivery in Rochester, Minnesota, where he never missed a day of work, was awarded many awards and due to that, he proclaimed himself world’s best driver.
Randy was married to Tina (Brummond) Gomer and together they had one son, Cameron. Randy also welcomed Tina’s three other sons into his home – Adam, Jeff and Mitch. Randy was grateful for having been part of their life and that they were a part of his life. He was very talented with his hands, particularly in woodworking. He could build or fix anything. His family can attest to his talent and willingness to help by the millions (slight exaggeration) of times he helped them out with putting in windows, doors, trim work, remodeling to things like landscaping, helping with out with vehicle repairs. He always repaired his own cars, though it’s disputed if he actually enjoyed some of those long weekends of working on his car. Among his other talents, he had a talent for making people laugh. Randy was a true jokester to the core and loved to play jokes on his friends and family; the children in the family really loved this about him. He was close to his family and loved family gatherings.
Randy was an amazing father, his biggest joy and purpose of his life was found doing anything with his son little Randy (also known as Cameron). From the early years of his childhood, to teaching him to ride a dirt bike, swing a hammer, to never missing a football game, how to fix things around the house or the car. The last couple years he got most enjoyment out of spending time with Cameron up north building his house together.
He is preceded in death by his nephew Trevor.
He is survived by his son Cameron, parents Raymond and Marcia, brother Dean (Kim) and sisters Crystal (Todd) and Dawn, nieces and nephews, Bailey (Zach), Nick (Vanessa), Nate, and Ashley (Trevor).
Funeral services will be held 1pm Saturday August 22, 2026 at Bear Creek Lutheran Church – Rural Grand Meadow with Pastor Bob Tewes officiating. Visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday August 21, 2026, at the Hindt Funeral Home in Grand Meadow and will continue for one hour prior to the service at the church.
