Lois Suckow obituary Fillmore County Journal

March 3, 1948 – July 9, 2026

Lois Ann Suckow (Wolfe), 78, of Rochester, Minnesota, peacefully entered her Heavenly home on July 9, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on March 3, 1948, in Oelwein, Iowa, Lois lived a life marked by compassion, faith, determination, and a servant’s heart. She devoted her career to helping families as a social worker and through Head Start, leaving a lasting impact on countless children and parents. Believing it is never too late to pursue a dream, she earned her master’s degree from Winona State University, graduating summa cum laude.

Lois was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother whose greatest joy was her family. She cherished every holiday, family gathering, games around the table, and conversations that created lifelong memories.

She is survived by her children Janene Dutton and Jereme Suckow (Paige), six grandchildren: Ashley Grady (Kass), Michael Duryee (Alex), Jessica Randall, Hunter Suckow (Abby), Grace Randall, and Tyler Suckow; and four great-grandchildren: Aubree Barela, Kadence Grady, Memphis Grady, and Bryton Duryee.

A lifelong lover of horses, Lois passed that passion on through generations of her family. She also found joy in cooking, baking, gardening, fishing, playing the piano, singing, dancing, volunteering, and cheering on the Kentucky Derby, Preakness Stakes, and Belmont Stakes each spring.

Lois never met a stranger. Her quick wit, warm smile, and genuine interest in others made everyone feel welcome. She was intelligent, spirited, fiercely independent, stubborn and deeply compassionate. Her faith guided her life, and she served her church and community with humility and generosity.

A celebration of life will be held Saturday, July 18, 2026, at 3 p.m. at Historic Lenora Pioneer Church, 38571 Dovetail Road, Canton, Minnesota.

Lois leaves behind a legacy of love, kindness, faith, and family. Every single one of us gained a guardian angel. She will be deeply missed, forever remembered, and always loved.
