Carol Jean Meiners, age 84, of Caledonia, passed away Sunday, July 12, 2026, at Valley View Nursing Home in Houston, Minnesota.
She was born on February 28, 1942, in Spring Grove, Minnesota, to Arthur and Margaret (Droivold) Rosendahl. She graduated from Houston High School in Houston, Minnesota.
On November 24, 1962, she married Marlyn Meiners. Marlyn preceded Carol in death on March 26, 2019.
Carol had previously worked at Control Data in Spring Grove, and Frankie’s Restaurant in Caledonia. She was also a home healthcare aide for many years.
She enjoyed playing bingo in Spring Grove, and going to the movies with her children. She was a member of the Red Hats, and she also enjoyed going to the boat to gamble occasionally and taking train trips.
Survivors include her sons Brian and Jason Meiners of Caledonia, her grandchildren Alex (Katie) and Brianne, great-grandchildren Cameron, Jaxson and Cora; her brother Terry (Julie) Rosendahl, and her sister Nancy Von Arx.
In addition to her parents Arthur and Margaret Rosendahl, her brother Roger Rosendahl, sister Mavis Kruckow, and her husband Marlyn, she was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Elsie Meiners, and her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Lester and Margaret Meiners and Stanley and Edna Meiners.
Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Thursday, July 16 at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Caledonia, Minnesota, with Pastor Steve Meyer officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7 p.m. and one hour prior to the services at the church.
