The Lazy Days of Summer

The lazy days of summer are upon us, but this weekend’s events are anything but slow.

From a milestone community celebration in LeRoy to a festival favorite in Rushford, residents and visitors have plenty of reasons to get out and enjoy mid-July.

Standout events anchor the weekend: LeRoy Summerfest  and Rushford Days.

LeRoy Summerfest has extra meaning this year as the community celebrates its 150th anniversary. The four-day celebration, held July 16-19, brings together long-standing traditions, family activities, palette-pleasing food, live music, and community pride.

The schedule includes a sidewalk chalk contest, Drive-By brat meal, Garden State Tractor Pullers, variety show, bean bag tournament, fireworks, mud run, sand volleyball, vendor fair, LeRoy Area truck/tractor pull, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, variety show at the LeRoy Community Center, fireworks, sand volleyball, kid’s pedal tractor pull, kids water ball fights, bingo, build your own ice cream sundae, rock climbing wall, foam and music party, street dance, joint church service at South Park, grilled chicken dinner by the LeRoy Fire Department, beer garden, and the Grand Parade.

Rushford Days returns July 15–19 with a full slate of activities at Creekside Park and throughout the community. The annual celebration offers events for all ages, from athletic competitions and family activities to food vendors and live music.

Highlights include a car cruise, a teen dance, youth baseball tournaments, live music, a 5K and 1-mile fun run, pedal tractor pull, 3-on-3 basketball tournament, trap shoot, Lions Club Pork Chop Dinner, Safari Zoo Show, kids’ obstacle course, open mic, youth softball tournament, bean bag tournament, a duck derby, and a pie and ice cream social.
