Monday night’s storm on April 13, 2026, brought a Tuesday morning surprise for Neil and Lois Halverson of Mabel. When they awoke, they found their pole building, constructed in 2017, had been blown apart during the night’s high winds. They are unsure whether a tornado was involved.
While the building was a total loss, damage to the equipment inside was limited. The planter, combine and bean head sustained some damage but the equipment remained standing in place.
Fortunately, their home and other buildings on their multi-generational farm were not damaged.
