Kenneth Edwin Eickhoff

Kenneth Edwin Eickhoff, 81, of Fountain, Minn., passed away on April 10, 2017 at Gundersen Harmony Care Center.

Kenny was born May 28, 1935 to Edwin and Edna (Kohlmeyer) Eickhoff in rural Wykoff.

The family farmed in the Fountain area. He attended kindergarten country school through the fourth grade, then attended St. John’s Lutheran through the eighth grade, graduating from Wykoff High School in 1953.  He worked with his father on the family farm following graduation. From 1955-1957 he served in the United States Army.

In 1957 he met Dianna Thompson.  They were married on August 29, 1959 at Henrytown Lutheran Church.

Kenny farmed all his life, milking cows, raising pigs, and also crops.

Kenny loved coaching basketball and softball.  He was also an avid Minnesota Twins fan.  He was very interested in his children and grandchildren’s lives, always wondering about their ball games and working life.

Kenny is lovingly remembered by his wife of 57 years, Dianna; children Mark (Jodi) Eickhoff, Michell (Bruce) Hovelson, and Misty (Nate) Heusinkveld; grandchildren Josalyn (Tyler Chase), Tyler, Makaila, Alexandra, Shayne, Lucas, and Kensie. great-grandchildren Zoey and Madalyn; siblings Harriet Harstad, Ronald (Sharon) Eickhoff, and Carol (Bill) Jeffers; also many nieces and nephews.  Kenny is also remembered by his good friend Dave Knutson.

Kenny is preceded in death his daughter, Marcia Udenberg; parents, sister Arlene Scheunemann, brothers-in-law: Don Scheunemann, Jim Harstad, and Lyle Utley; nephew David Scheunemann, and niece Sandy Utley.

A memorial service will be at 11:30 on Wednesday, April 19, 2017 at Henrytown Lutheran Church, 36190 County 18, Canton, Minn. 55922, with Pastor Dean Safe officiating.  Visitation will be from 9-11:30 a.m. on Wednesday at the church.  A private family committal service will follow at a later date.

The family is requesting you wear Minnesota Twins attire in honor of Kenny at the memorial service.
