Meeting Minutes January 11, 2022
The Board of Education of Independent School District #238 met on Tuesday, January 11, 2022 at 6:00 pm in the Media Center.
Members present in person: Adkins, Miller, Marquardt, Wilder, Weidemann, Livingood, Superintendent Kuphal
Also present in person: Principal Weidemann, Chad Pike, Rich Wicks, District Secretary Lisa Halverson
Others members present via visible-audible technology: Tollefsrud
The meeting was called to order by Chair Adkins at 6:00 pm. The Pledge of Allegiance was said.
Motion to approve the revised agenda with one change under Consent Agenda: News
Leader should read Fillmore

Journal by Miller, second by Marquardt and carried unanimously. Motion to leave all offices the same by Miller, second by Wilder and carried unanimously. Motion to move forward with construction in areas 1, 4, and 5 including windows by Weidemann, second by Wilder and carried unanimously.
Motion to approve the COVID Committee’s recommendation for positive cases and household member cases, and remove all requirements for close contacts for non-household members, second by Marquardt and carried unanimously. New COVID protocol for Mabel-Canton:
If positive, student/staff will now quarantine for 5 days, and return with mask for additional 5 days.
If close contact to positive household member, person quarantines for 5 days. Test on day 5. If negative, return to school as normal.
If close contact (to non-household member), no quarantine. Watch for symptoms and test if symptoms develop.
Consent Agenda: Motion by Marquardt, second by Livingood and carried unanimously, to approve the consent agenda with the newspaper name change from News
Leader to Fillmore
County
