Bids are due Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at 2:00pm local time, at which time the bids will be opened publicly and read aloud by the Construction Manager. Bids are to be hand delivered to the Chatfield Center for the Arts located at 405 Main Street South, Chatfield, MN 55923. Send electronic copies of bids to jyoung@ci.chatfield.mn.us.
A public opening will be held in-person as well as a virtual option by accessing the following link https://bit.ly/CCAbids (case sensitive).
Pre-BidMeeting

A pre-bid meeting will be held on site on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 10:00am local time.
Bidders are strongly encouraged to attend the pre-bid meeting onsite. We are asking that companies limit their attendance to 1 person. The pre-bid will be split into 2 groups to limit congestion.
• Group 1: M/E/P, Controls & Sprinkler Contractors from 10:00am – 10:30am
• Group 2: All Other Contractors from 10:30am – 11:00am
All people visiting the site in person will be required to sign-in. Masks will be required. Please report to the back entrance of the Arts Center. Avoid gathering in a group and maintain 6’ distance from others. Parking is available at the back of the building.
Questions
All questions shall be issued in writing via email to Brea Koebele at BreaK@benike.com by 10:00am local time on Tuesday, September 14, 2021. Responses to questions will be issued in an addendum which is expected on or around September 16, 2021.

Bid Submittal
Bid must be delivered in a sealed envelope clearly marked with the Bidder’s name and Work Scope.
Please use the bid form to submit your bid.
The Owner is a tax-exempt entity and intends to proceed with this project in such a way as to minimize sales tax. For the specific Trade Packages that this affects, please refer to specification section 01 1100. The successful bidders will be given two contracts, one for labor and one for tax-exempt materials. Bids will need be to be separated by material & labor as specified on the bid form.
This project is sales tax exempt. Do not include sales tax on material bids.
Include a bid security in the form of cashier’s check, bid bond, or certified check.
Include Responsible Contractor Verification form.
Include wage rates form.
Bid Security
Each bidder must accompany their bid with a cashier’s check, bid bond or certified check equal to 5% of the amount of the base bid payable to the Owner as a guarantee that the bidder will enter into a contract with the Owner for the work described. If any bidder refuses or fails to execute and deliver the contract and bonds required with in ten days after they receive notice of acceptance of their bid, the Owner will retain the bid security as liquidated damages, but not as a penalty.
Bonds
The successful bidder will be required to furnish a “Performance Bond” and “Labor and Materials Payment Bond” each in the full amount of the contract by a surety approved by the Owner. Please provide a breakout cost as noted on the bid form.
Wage Determination Requirements
Minnesota prevailing wage statues do apply to their work. Bidder is responsible for obtaining schedule of prevailing wage rates and complying with these wage rates.
