PARKING REGULATION ORDINANCE 15
CONDENSED VERSION
THE CITY OF RUSHFORD ORDAINS:
The following Ordinance will serve to provide updated regulations for parking within the City of Rushford and repeal inconsistent parking regulation language. In addition to the parking regulations set forth in the Minnesota State Traffic Code, the following shall be observed in this City:
Section 15.01 Definitions and Interpretations – definitions for commercial vehicle, motor vehicle, recreational vehicle and truck
Section 15.02 Traffic Code – M.S. Chapter 169 adopted by reference
Section 15.03 Presumption of Permission – presume driver acting as agent of the owner
Section 15.04 General Prohibitions – listing of areas where it is unlawful to stop, stand or park a vehicle
Section 15.05 Parallel Parking – definition of allowable parking angles
Section 15.06 Angle Parking – allowable in certain marked areas
Section 15.07 Streets without Curbs – park parallel and to the right of the pavement
Section 15.08 Parking Hours – description of continuous period, prohibited parking zones, time measurements and definition of stationary
Section 15.09 Truck Parking – restrictions for truck parking regarding semi-trailers, commercial vehicles, truck/vehicle and trailer and bus; construction and repair equipment
Section 15.10 City Parking Lots – some lots may have restrictions and regulations
Section 15.11 Vehicle Repairs on Streets – not allowable except for immediate, emergency repairs
Section 15.12 Advertising or Selling Merchandise – not allowable except in front of own residence; food trucks or vendors allowed upon registering with City and for special events
Section 15.13 Parking on Private Property without Consent – parking or abandoning vehicle on another person’s property prohibited
Section 15.14 Limit on Quantity and Type of Vehicles in Residential District – indoor parking allowed; outdoor parking allowed on driveways or hard surfaces
Section 15.15 Winter Parking – remove vehicles from streets within 12 hours of ice or snow; may move temporarily for plowing purposes; follow existing snow removal policy
Section 15.16 Severability – if Court rules one section is void; other sections remain in force
Section 15.17 Penalty – petty misdemeanor; vehicles may be impounded or removed at owners cost if in violation.
