REGULAR MEETING OF THE SCHOOL BOARD
INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT #239
The regular meeting of the Rushford-Peterson School District #239 was called to order by Chairperson John Linder at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, October 19, 2020 at the Rushford-Peterson Schools Forum Room, 1000 Pine Meadows Lane, Rushford, MN 55971.
Members Present: Chris Grindland, Valarie Howe, Joyce Iverson, John Linder, Jeff Michel, Bonnie Prinsen & Kathy Wade
Administration Present: Superintendent Jon Thompson
District Office Personnel: Laura Hahn
Motion by Wade, seconded by Prinsen to adopt the agenda. Motion carried unanimously.
There were no public comments.
Motion by Grindland, seconded by Michel to approve the following consent agenda items: September 21, 2020 Regular Monthly Meeting Minutes; Donation in the amount of $829 from Johnson Rolling Acres for Lille By Preschool Milk; September hand payables, wires & payroll liabilities in the amount of $355,151.17; September payroll in the amount of $263,882.07; October board bills in the amount of $165,887.04, Fund Summary Reports; PERSONNEL: Hire of Patty McAllister – Long-term Sub for Hannah Pape – Third Grade and Hire of Terry Pelzl – Long-term Sub for Jade Olstad – Third Grade. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Prinsen, seconded by Iverson to approve the second reading and adoption of the following policies: #521 – Student Disability Nondiscrimination, #526 – Hazing Prohibition, #531 – The Pledge of Allegiance and #532 – Use of Peace Officers and Crisis Teams to Remove Students with IEPs from School Grounds. Motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Wade, second by Michel to approve the resolution naming the library the Charles J Ehler Learning Center. With a roll call vote of 7:0, motion carried unanimously.
Motion by Wade, seconded by Michel to approve the first reading of the following policies: #620 – Credit For Learning, #722 – Public Data Requests and #903 – Visitors to School District Buildings and Sites. Motion carried unanimously.
Superintendent Thompson presented the Superintendent’s report.

Motion by Grindland, seconded by Michel, to adjourn the regular meeting at 5:58 PM. Motion carried unanimously.
