Felony Charges
Shawn Robert VanGundy, 21, of Houston, was charged in District Court with burglary and assault related to an incident in Rushford on November 23.
According to the criminal complaint, it is alleged that VanGundy entered a former girlfriend's home without her permission and assaulted her boyfriend. In addition to four felony counts, VanGundy is also charged with interfering with a 911 call, domestic violence and trespass, all misdemeanors.
Judge Benson released VanGundy on his own recognizance on the condition that he abstain from alcohol, not go in bars, have no contact with his victims, and submit to daily alcohol testing. VanGundy's next court appearance is scheduled for December 18, 2006.
