Felony Charges
Nicholas Lee Menne, 26, of Cresco, was charged in Fillmore County District Court on Monday, April 2, 2007, with two counts of felony theft.
According to court records, it is alleged that on September 20, 2006, Menne rented equipment from a Harmony business and failed to return the equipment on an agreed upon date. In addition to the felony charges, Menne is also charged with three misdemeanor counts of theft.
Judge Robert Benson released Menne on his own recognizance pending his next court appearance on April 30.
Effrain Joel Trejo, 28, of Zion, IL, was charged in District Court on April 2, 2007 with burglary, a felony.
According to the criminal complaint, it is alleged that Trejo entered an apartment in Rushford on February 26, 2007, and took a television set belonging to the resident.
Trejo is also charged on a separate court file with three felony counts of check forgery, possession of stolen checks, and offering a forged check. It is alleged that Trejo took checks belonging to his ex-wife, forged checks totalling $1600 and cashed them at a Rushford bank.
Trejo remains in custody at the Fillmore County Jail. Judge Benson set conditional bail at $3,000. Trejo's next court appearance is scheduled for April 16.

A pre-trial hearing for Ryan Lettner has been set for July 23. Lettner is accused of using his position as a Chatfield Police Officer to aid and abet two other men stealing construction equipment.
