Transporting Injured Raptors - You Can Help!

What should you do if you find an injured hawk, eagle, or owl? The Houston Nature Center serves as a collection and transportation hub for the sick and injured raptors of this area since the nearest wildlife rehabilitators are in the Twin Cities, but we could use your help! This training session will teach you how to safely catch a grounded raptor, what to put it in, some initial health assessment, how to transport the bird to give it the best chance for survival, and what you are and aren't allowed to do by law.
Even if you can't attend the class but are interested in serving as a "raptor ambulance" driver, please contact the Nature Center to leave your name, phone number, and the days you regularly drive to the Twin Cities.
This program is free and open to the public, but donations are encouraged. It will take place on Saturday July 23 at 7 p.m. The Houston Nature Center is located one block north of the intersection of Highways 16 and 76 in Houston on West Plum Street in Trailhead Park.
