Felony Sentencing
Rita Ann Wade, 45, of LeRoy, was sentenced to 20 days in jail and fined $750, after pleading guilty on April 23, to one count of felony burglary. All other charges were dismissed as part of the plea arrangement.
Wade admitted to entering the Ostrander Assisted Living Apartments on December 10th and stealing cash from two of the residents.
Judge Robert Benson sentenced Wade to serve 28 weeks in prison, but stayed execution of sentencing for ten years. Wade must participate in a probation program and serve 20 days in jail. She was given credit for 6 days served.
Benson also ordered Wade to write a letter of apology to the victims as well as to serve 40 hours of community service.
