Felony Sentencing

• Thang Duc Hearrold, 40, of Lanesboro, was sentenced by Judge Robert Benson on October 1, in District Court to 120 days in jail, fined $1000 and ordered to pay restitution of $959 after pleading guilty to felony possession of stolen property. Hearrold was given credit for 93 days served in jail. All other charges were dropped as part of the plea agreement. A full execution of sentencing, 365 days in prison, was stayed for five years.

According to court documents, on March 22, 2007, Hearrold took a social security check belonging to a Lanesboro man and cashed it at a Rushford bank.

Felony Charges

• Jeremie James Myers, 20, of Spring Valley, was charged in District Court on October 1 to four felony counts of theft and criminal damage to property, related to an incident on August 5, 2007. In addition to the felony charges, Myers is also charged with underage drinking and consumption, both misdemeanors.

According to the criminal complaint, Myers took a skid loader valued at more than $40,000 from a Spring Valley man and drove it through a corn field belonging to an adjoining property owner. Damage to the skid loader was more than $1000 and damage to the corn crop was valued at more than $1000.

Judge Robert Benson released Myers on his own recognizance, pending his next scheduled court appearance on October 15, 2007.
