Felony Charges
David Lester McHan, 41, of Spring Valley, was charged in Fillmore County District Court with two felony counts of domestic assault related to an incident in Spring Valley on September 30, 2007. The severity of the charges indicate that McHan has previous convictions within the last 10 years for domestic assault, making terroristic threats, domestic abuse, and violating an order for protection. McHan is also charged with misdemeanor counts of assault and domestic abuse.
According to court documents, it is alleged that McHan assaulted his wife following a domestic dispute, supposedly stomping on her face with the heel of his foot.
McHan was released on his own recognizance by Judge Robert Benson after posting $10,000 unconditional bail. He can have no contact with his victim. His next court appearance is scheduled for November 26, 2007.
