PRESTON - Shayla Christine Gehrke, 37, of Lanesboro, was sentenced on Wednesday, December 12, 2007, to ten years probation after pleading guilty to stealing more than $17,000 from her employer. An additional 11 counts of theft were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

According to court records, Gehrke wrote checks on company accounts belonging to Fillmore Family Resources in Preston between May 5, 2006 and March 29, 2007. The thefts were used to pay personal expenses, including utility bills, day care costs, car repairs and telephone bills.
