A Kasson man faces multiple charges, including three felony counts of criminal vehicular operation, related to an incident in Ostrander in October 2006.
Michael Larry Chester, 28, was arraigned in Fillmore County District Court on Monday, December 17, 2007 on sixteen criminal counts. In addition to the felony charges, Chester is charged with criminal damage to property, failing to notify law enforcement of a personal injury, reckless driving, and theft.
According to court records, it is alleged that on October 18, 2006, Chester and another man were eating and drinking at Suzie's Roadhouse and left without paying their bill. The two men then fled the scene in a vehicle, but not before knocking down Lloyd Street, a man who had come out to stop them, as well as side-swiping another vehicle Witnesses identified Chester as the person who was driving the white Pontiac Grand Prix.
Street suffered a mild concussion, a closed head injury, abrasions and needed surgery to repair a shoulder injury. He was treated at St. Marys Hospital in Rochester.
Judge Robert Benson released Chester on his own recognizance pending his next court appearance on January 7, 2008.
