'Pot Luck' is this month's theme for the "Over the Back Fence" Community Variety Show, to be held on Friday, August 12, 7:30 p.m. at the St. Mane Theatre in Lanesboro, Minnesota. As Minnesotans know, the traditional 'Pot Luck' brings an array of wonderful options at mealtime, with something sure to suit everyone's fancy. . . The 'Pot Luck' show will do just that, featuring a variety of entertainment. Remarkable local talent will be seen in the "Nose Full of Nickels" old 1920s radio theater skit, an accordion duo with Barb Keith and Bill Swanson, and the Over the Back Fence gang singing some old commercial jingles. Along with music director Heidi Dybing, our witty and endearing host Damon Prestemon will ask for audience participation in "Name That Tune". Sponsor interviews will feature Cedar Valley Resort and Slant Avenue Mercantile. Musical guest Dave Wilson will perform on guitar & vocals; he is part of the "Facing West Band" of Rochester, Minn. As usual, pre-show music will begin at 7 p.m.

Presented by the Lanesboro Arts Center, "Over the Back Fence" runs monthly on the second Fridays of February through November in 2011. Upcoming show dates: Aug. 12, Sept. 9, Oct. 14, and Nov. 11. For audience members who have been following the show on Sundays throughout the years, each show will also be broadcast on KFIL Radio 103.1FM on the Sunday nine days following each live show, at 7 p.m. Tickets are $5 adult / $3 student, available at the St. Mane Theatre beginning at 6:30 p.m. on show nights, and in advance at the Lanesboro Arts Center, 507-467-2446 (open seven days a week). The St. Mane Theatre is located at 206 Parkway Ave N. in Lanesboro, Minn.
