Felony Charges

• Aimee Ann Phelps, 34, of Chatfield, was charged on Monday, June 30, 2008, in Fillmore County District Court with violation of election laws, a felony.

According to court records, it is alleged that Phelps voted in the Pilot Mound General Election on March 11, 2008, although at the time she was on probation for a felony and had yet to have her voting rights restored following a felony conviction. Phelps is on 15 years probation following a drug conviction in Olmsted County in 2003. Her probation is set to expire on September 13, 2018. Judge Robert Benson released Phelps on her own recognizance pending her next court appearance on July 14, 2008. She is being represented by public defender Fred Suhler, Jr.

• Evan Wayne Long, 20, of Spring Valley was charged in District Court on Monday, June 30, 2008, with felony criminal sexual conduct.

According to the criminal complaint, it is alleged that Long had consensual sexual contact with a 15 year old female minor over a period of time.

Judge Benson released Long on his own recognizance. No date has been set for Long's next court appearance. He is being represented by Fred Suhler, Jr.

• Quentin Richard Miland, 18, of Spring Valley, was charged in District Court on Monday, June 30, 2008, with two felony counts of assault related to an incident at the Kingsland Middle School in Wykoff on April 18, 2008.

According to court documents, it is alleged that Miland assaulted a 15 year old boy in the Middle School parking lot after the boy finished play practice. The boy was treated at St. Marys Hospital for a broken bone in his face.

Judge Robert Benson released Miland on his own recognizance pending his next court appearance on July 7, 2008.
