Two Spring Valley men were charged in Fillmore County District Court on Monday, July 21, 2008, for theft and receiving stolen property.

According to court records, it is alledged that on July 18, 2008, Richard Chad Jones, 32, and James Douglas Adams 22, took property, including a Farmall tractor and construction tools, from a home on County Road 30. The items were valued at more than $4,257.

Jones was charged with theft and receiving stolen property. Adams was charged with aiding and abetting Jones.

Judge Robert Benson set conditional bail for Jones at $1000. Adams was released on his own recognizance. Both men are scheduled to appear again in court on August 4, 2008.

• Rebecca Jo Kellogg, accused of embezzling more than $50,000 from the Fillmore County Development Achievement Center, entered a not guilty plea in District Court on July 21, to all charges. Kellogg through her Attorney Fred Suhler, Jr. waived her right to an Omnibus Hearing and requested a jury trial.
