Michael Charles Bourgoin, 40, of St. Paul, was charged on Monday, August 4, 2008, in Fillmore County District Court with fleeing a police officer, a felony. In addition, he was also charged with reckless driving and speeding, both misdemeanors.

According to court records, on June 29, 2008, Bourgoin was traveling north of Lanesboro on Highway 30 near the Highway 250 intersection in excess of 100 mph on his motorcycle. When the sheriff's deputy turned on his lights in pursuit to pull him over, Bourgoin sped away. The police officer caught up with him after he lost control on a curve. After the officer ran Mr. Bourgoin's name, he discovered an active warrant from Ramsey County.

Judge Robert Benson released Bourgoin on his own recognizance pending his next court appearance, scheduled for August 25, 2008.
