Brian Edward Buenger, 48, of Preston, was sentenced in Fillmore County District Court on Monday, September 8, 2008, to 17 months in prison after being found guilty of violating predatory sexual offender registration laws.

Judge Robert Benson ruled in a court trial on April 2, 2008, that Buenger, a convicted sexual offender, failed to register a change of employment as required by law.

Benson also sentenced Buenger to 10 years probation after the defendant pled guilty to criminal sexual conduct in the fourth degree. Buenger admitted to touching the breasts of a 15 year old female on or around August 10, 2006. Benson stayed adjudication of sentencing for 10 years on the condition that Buenger is law abiding.

Buenger was represented in court by public defender Fred Suhler, Jr.
