Felony Charges

• Tyler Ray Clement, 18, of Chatfield, was charged on Monday, October 6, 2008, in Fillmore County District Court with Criminal Sexual Conduct in the Third Degree.

According to a criminal complaint, it is alleged that on Aug. 4, 2008, Clement engaged in sexual penetration with a 14-year-old minor who was more than 24 months younger than him. The minor's father made the complaint and noted that Clement understood his daughter was 14.

Clement was released on his own recognizance by Judge Robert Benson pending his next court appearance on October 20, 2008.

• James Douglas Adams, 22, and Chad Jones, 33, both of Spring Valley, were charged with Felony Theft in District Court on Monday, October 6, 2008.

According to court documents, is alleged that from May 2008 to July 26, 2008, Adams and Jones stole farm machinery totaling $12,262.50 from a site owned by Douglas DeVries. Officials were first notified on July 9, 2008, by an auction company when the men brought in a disc chisel for consignment. The men also sold the stolen machinery as scrap metal to Leroy Iron and Metal.

Judge Benson released Adams on his own recognizance pending his next court date set for Dec. 1, 2008. Jones's next court date is Oct. 20, 2008.
