Jonathon Allen Minshall, 25, of Spring Valley, was sentenced to five years probation by Judge Robert Benson in Fillmore County District Court on Monday, February 2, 2008, after pleading guilty to multiple charges.

Minshall pled guilty on January 26, 2008 to assault, burglary, theft and motor vehicle tampering. Minshall admitted to the court that he assaulted his wife during a domestic disturbance on November 28, 2007. Judge Benson stayed imposition of sentencing for five years and placed Minshall on five years probation. He also ordered him to serve 180 days in jail, with credit for 109 days served, and pay a $500 fine. Restitution was reserved for 120 days.

In a separate case, Minshall also told the court that he stole personal property from several vehicles in Spring Valley, in or around January 25, 2008. Judge Benson sentenced Minshall to 15 months in prison on the burglary charge, but stayed imposition of sentencing for five years. He was also ordered to pay a $500 fine.
