Mon, Sep 12th, 2011
Posted in The Great Outdoors

Come for an easy one hour walk along the award-winning Houston levee prairie in Trailhead Park. Find out why cord grass can give you welts and which plant holds water for the birds to drink. Smell the plant that bears the same name as an ingredient in Earl Grey Tea and learn how compass plant earns its name. Feel free to bring a camera.

This program is free and open to the public, but donations are encouraged. The Houston Nature Center is located one block north of the intersection of Hwys 16 & 76 in Houston in Trailhead Park. Call 507-896-4668 or e-mail nature@acegroup.cc for more information.
