Are you struggling with how to transfer your farm business to the next generation?

University of Minnesota Extension, Houston County and Caledonia Area Community Education are pleased to invite you to attend "Farm Transition and Estate Planning: Create Your Farm Legacy", a practical in-depth workshop

The presenters will be University of Minnesota Ag Business Management Extension Educators Gary Hachfeld and David Bau. This 5-hour workshop covers topics including: farm business transfer strategies; tax issues related to the farm transfer; wills, trusts, power-of-attorney, and long-term care issues; developing a written transfer plan; and treatment of heirs in the transfer process.

Each participant will receive a workbook which includes: all PowerPoint slides discussed during the workshop, participant worksheets to complete the transition and estate planning process, an additional resource section listing internet sites for additional information, a set of 10 detailed farm transition information sheets, and a set of five detailed financial management information sheets.

"Farm Transition and Estate Planning: Create Your Farm Legacy" will be held Saturday, September 17, 2011, 9 AM - 3:30 PM - lunch provided, at the Caledonia Area High School, 825 N. Warrior Ave., Caledonia, MN 55921
