From train to bicycle to stage: On Saturday, September 24, 2011, musician Brianna Lane will take the train from south Minneapolis to Winona, Minn., then ride her bicycle 40 miles from the Amtrak station in Winona to Lanesboro, to perform a concert that evening with her band, the Navigators Club. Featuring Americana music, the concert will feature vocals, banjo, acoustic and electric guitars, washboard, mandolin, and fiddle. The concert will be held at 7:30 p.m. at the St. Mane Theatre.

By the time she arrives in Lanesboro, musician Brianna Lane will have logged 900+ miles in September, bicycling to concerts on a tour through Wisconsin. The Minneapolis-based artist rides a Handsome bicycle, "A fantastic touring bike," she says. She packs her instruments in Banjo Brothers bags, stopping for snacks and lunch along the way. In case of bad weather? "We get wet," she smiles. Local bicycle enthusiasts are welcome to meet her on the trail and ride in to Lanesboro with her. Details: the train is scheduled to arrive at the Amtrak station in Winona at 10:17, and she'll plan to leave from there at approximately 11 a.m., traveling about 12 mph. A second option for meeting up with her is in Rushford at the Root River State Trailhead; meet at about 12:45 p.m. and plan to leave west towards Lanesboro on the bike trail at about 1 p.m.

Brianna Lane's band, the Navigators Club, features Americana music in a wide variety of instrumentation, with Brianna on guitar and vocals, Blake Thomas on vocals and auxillary instruments (tenor banjo, mandolin and fiddle), Mikkel Beckman on washboard, and Colin Monette on electric guitar.
