One Moment Please: Don't ruin a good thing for families

Congratulations to Harmony for their outstanding July 4th parade! I especially enjoyed the cavemen of Niagara Caves -- very creative and entertaining.

Probably the only thing that was a concern was while I was videotaping the entire parade to post it on the Journal's web site. There were four 20-something men who stood behind me during the last 10 minutes of the parade, making deragatory comments about everyone in the parade and they couldn't seem to complete a sentence without using profanity.

My two concerns: my 4-year-old daughter was sitting right there hearing their commentary, and ALL of their colorful remarks were captured in the audio of the recorded video.

For the reasons mentioned above, I respectfully asked them to refrain. They smiled, laughed, and continued as they were. My polite request and explanation fell on deaf ears.

Guys, if you're reading this, don't ruin a good thing such as a parade.
